This film specifically pokes fun at the screenwriter and the rules of writing a great screenplay.The film Adaptation is about the writing of a fictitious movie called The Orchid Thief. Be careful in this discussion to be clear about whether you are referring to the real Charlie Kauffman and the real script Adaptation or if you are referring to the character “Charlie Kauffman” (played by Nicholas Cage) who is writing The Orchid Thief in the movie.This discussion is a bit loose.
