Choose an Emerging Therapy to research. An Emerging Therapy is a new therapy in the medical world and can be used to treat any condition from gout to HIV/AIDS. *Topic is due on Wednesday of Week 1.
2. Research the following:
a. Name and description of the condition and what it does to the body.
b. How is the disorder contracted? (genetics, drug induced, etc)
c. Is there a particular group (ethnicity, sociological culture) that is predisposed for this condition?
d. What is the emerging therapy and who is pioneering it? e. How is the Emerging therapy used to treat the condition? f. What medication or therapies are used as treatment?
i. Brand/Generic names
ii. Therapeutic classifications
iii. Directions for use (pick one dosage form if many)
iv. Mechanism of action
g. Is it curable with the new therapy?
h. Statistics (most current available)
3. Type the report, at least 2 (Two) full pages of information. Size 12 font, Times New Roman, 1.5” spacing. Minimum of 2 reliable resources and minimum one image or graph. 4. Paper is due week 5 and a half page overview is due week 6. The overview should condense your paper into a solid 1-2 paragraphs. 5. For maximum points:
a. Information provided needs to be highly relevant to the topic. Ideas must flow logically and transitions lead smoothly from topic to topic. Supporting information must be provided to explain more complex concepts with clearly stated relationships between the information and concepts. No spelling or grammatical errors.
b. Information comes from reputable, professional resources. c. Facts must be accurately stated with sources consistently cited and referenced. d. All sources must be accurately cited in body of paper and referenced appropriately in aReference or Works Cited list. All citations and references must follow APA format. e. Paper must reflect professional terminology and communication style. f. In week 6 there is a 4-6 minute presentation due. Presentation must be on PowerPoint.
