Part 1 – Conduct a Personal Pesticide Inventory
For this discussion, you will complete an inventory of pesticides in your home or your workplace (you only need to select one location). Describe what kinds of pesticides did you find (e.g. type, names, etc).
What are they used for?
Do you know if they were used according to the instructions on the label?
Were they stored as instructed by the label?
Part 2: Pesticide Safety
Review your inventory and read through your classmates’ pesticide inventories. Find a pesticide that one of your classmates has listed and use your research skills to:
Identify a health effect that could come from
an acute exposure
a chronic exposure
Identify at least one way you can reduce the risk of the health effects that have been identified
Compose a comment to your classmates discussion post that includes these health effects and what they can do to reduce the risk of harm posed by this hazard. Try to find a discussion post that has not been commented on previously.
